Curriculum

Woodland offers a traditional secular curriculum.  Textbooks are selected from the list approved by the Virginia Department of Education.  The curriculum is established by the Academy and uses the published SOL's as a reference in establishing minimum expectations.  SOL testing is not part of the school's curriculum.  Stanford 9 standardized tests are currently the independent instrument used to monitor student progress in grades 1 - 8.  The Metropolitan Achievement test is administered to evaluate Kindergarten progress.

Report Cards and Interim Reports

Report cards are sent home quarterly.   The dates for these reports are listed on the Academy Calendar

Interims are sent home to inform parents of a student's progress between report cards.   All students functioning at "D" level or below, as well as those students who are functioning two grade levels below their normal work, must receive Interim Reports from the subject teacher.  Teachers may also send Interim Reports home at their own discretion.

Director's List - A's in all subjects.
Honor Roll - A or B in all subjects.
Scholar's List - 6th - 8th grades only - B average for the quarter with no grade below a C.
